The Eye - Water Bodies Series

$380.00

One of the first series’ that I created was the Water Bodies Series. I wanted to talk about the connection between humans and nature. Everything is connected and there is usually more to see beneath the surface of a thing.

The Eye is a commentary on the saying “the eyes are the windows to the soul”. The painting shows a bold ocean sunset with several individuals and couples in the water watching the sun appear. One side of the painting is as if viewed through a window and the other side shows what would lie just outside of the window view. Through the window, it might appear as the 2 closest individuals are walking away in different directions leaving the one couple on their own. However, when you broaden your perspective you realize the rest of the image shows there are more than just the originally perceived people in the image and suggests the closest individual may not be alone and walking away at all because everyone else in the image has a partner.

The Eye is an acrylic painting created on 5 separate canvas panels matted together in a simple black frame. The painting is 10x20 inches not counting the frame.
